Rock Size Doesn’t Matter in Viral Facebook Post...

Rachel Pedersen took to Facebook to defend her ring size and her marriage after she got sick of friends and family inquiring about her “small” ring, and her personal post has resonated with people around the world.

The post, which she opens, “Yes, I know that my wedding ring is small,” has been liked 188,000 times and received more than 16,000 comments. Many of them are from women posting pictures of their own “small” rings and commending Pedersen for her attitude.

Us Weekly followed up with the 27-year-old mother of two.

“I used to dream of a Tiffany’s 2-carat, round-cut solitaire,” Pedersen told Us. “I learned something greater through the process of meeting [husband Poul Pedersen], and that was that a true love with a foundation of respect and trust is far more valuable than a large diamond.”

Pedersen told Us that the center stone in her cluster diamond ring (pictured, above) is “1/4 carat tops.”

According JCK’s 2015 bridal retail survey in partnership with The Knot, the average total carat size for engagement rings is 1.6 cts., and that 64 percent of brides receive a ring with a center diamond from 0.5–1.5 cts.

Here is the post in its entirety.
