Ringly, the gold-plated ring that notifies users of emails and phone calls, made more than $100,000 in sales its first day, its spokesperson said.
The company would not comment on how many units it sold, but since the item sells for $145, that comes out to around 650 units.
The rings are fashioned with 18k heavy gold plating and are available in three sizes: 6, 7, and 8. There are three different semiprecious-stone options: black onyx, rainbow moonstone, and pink sapphire.
The company also announced that it will offer app integrations for a range of sites, including Airbnb, eBay, Gilt, Hinge, Lyft, Skype, WhatsApp, and Words With Friends.
